چکیده

In this paper a new non-switching type reaching law for sliding mode control of discrete time systems is introduced and applied to the problem of periodic review inventory management. The considered inventory is refilled by multiple suppliers through delivery channels subject to non-negligible commodity losses. The reaching law proposed in this paper is inspired by the earlier work of Gao, Wang and Homaifa, however, in this paper the original formulation is essentially modified in order to avoid undesirable switching, and to ensure good dynamic performance with limited commodity orders. These improvements are obtained by the application of a modified definition of the quasi-sliding mode, and also by the introduction of an adjustable, state dependent sliding variable decrease rate factor. The sliding mode inventory management strategy proposed in this paper ensures full customer demand satisfaction and enables the designer to specify upper limit of the on-hand stock level.

Multirate Output Feedback Based Discrete-Time Sliding Mode Control for a Class of Nonlinear Systems

The concept of sliding mode control was first introduced by Emelyanov [Emelyanov, 1967] and Utkin [Utkin, 1977]. It is a technique that achieves desired characteristics for the system by confining its states to a specified subset of the state space. This is done by application of a control of variable structure. The main advantage of sliding mode control is its insensitivity to system parameter...

Multimodel Discrete Second Order Sliding Mode Control: Stability Analysis and Real Time Application on a Chemical Reactor

The variable structure control is principally characterized by its robustness with respect to the system’s modeling uncertainties and external disturbances (Decarlo et al. (1988); Filippov (1960); Lopez & Nouri (2006); Utkin (1992)). Sliding Mode Systems are a particular case of the Variable Structure Systems (VSS). They are feedback systems with discontinuous gains switching the system’ s stru...

Adaptive Fuzzy Dynamic Sliding Mode Control of Nonlinear Systems

Two phenomena can produce chattering: switching of input control signal and the large amplitude of this switching (switching gain). To remove the switching of input control signal, dynamic sliding mode control (DSMC) is used. In DSMC switching is removed due to the integrator which is placed before the plant. However, in DSMC the augmented system (system plus the integrator) is one dimension bi...

A Novel Approach to Designing of Chattering-Free Sliding-Mode Control in Second-Order Discrete-Time Systems

In this paper, a chattering-free sliding-mode control is mainly proposed in a second-order discrete-time system. For achieving this purpose, firstly, a suitable control law would be derived by using the discrete-time Lyapunov stability theory and the sliding-mode concept. Then the input constraint is taken into account as a saturation function in the proposed control law. In order to guarantee ...

Design of a Novel Framework to Control Nonlinear Affine Systems Based on Fast Terminal Sliding-Mode Controller

In this paper, a novel approach for finite-time stabilization of uncertain affine systems is proposed. In the proposed approach, a fast terminal sliding mode (FTSM) controller is designed, based on the input-output feedback linearization of the nonlinear system with considering its internal dynamics. One of the main advantages of the proposed approach is that only the outputs and external state...
